The challenge
The production processes of AJM OKNA-VRATA-SENČILA d.o.o. are characterized by intensive consumption of electricity, which causes significant operating costs and a significant impact on the environment due to the high carbon dioxide emissions associated with the use of electricity from the network. In order to reduce costs and improve its energy efficiency, the company decided to invest in its own solar power plant. Such a decision enables partial energy self-sufficiency, reduces dependence on volatile prices in energy markets and secures environmental benefits by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Solution
A solar power plant with a rated capacity of 249.92 kWp was installed on the roofs of production facilities. The power plant is equipped with high-efficiency photovoltaic modules and inverters, which allows optimal operation and high levelself-supply of electricity. The annual output of the plant is estimated at around 290 MWh, which represents a significant contribution to reducing the consumption of electricity from the grid and associated costs.
Result
The power plant allows reducing the cost of electricity and directly improves the financial profitability of the enterprise by reducing dependence on the grid. Annual electricity production reduces greenhouse gas emissions by about 120 tonnes, equivalent to the planting of 5,500 trees. This reduction in emissions contributes to a healthier environment and supports the global Sustainable Development Goals through increased use of renewable resources. With the construction of the power plant, AJM is positioning itself as an environmentally responsible company, which strengthens its reputation among partners and customers.
