About the company:
Benko Tehna is a Slovenian company founded in 1991. The main activity of the company is the sale of metal products. In order to increase the competitiveness of the market, they have also included in their product range an additional sales program such as perforated sheet, expansion sheet, walking grilles, nets and door fittings. In addition, they also offer sheet metal cutting andbending services to customers. Exports to foreign markets (Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Austria) account for 30% of the turnover.
The challenge:
Benko Tehna already has an existing solar power plant with a significant capacity of 123.76 kWp, which is oversized according to the consumption in the facility. The transmission of electricity to the distribution network is determined by a contract based onexchange (dynamic) prices. Given that dynamic electricity prices are low or even negative at the time of production of a solar power plant, the share of electricity produced is relatively low.
Solution:
We have offered the customer 50kW/80kWh energy storage tank as a quality solution for storing electricity produced by solar power plants in the period of the lowest price, and as a solution to reduce the connecting power.
We have also integrated solar inverters into our management system (Tesvolt Energy Management) so that the user has control over the consumption and production of electricity at all times. The system uses advanced features such as “time-of-use”, “peak shaving” and “self-consumption optimization”.
The battery is set in such a way as to allow cutting spikes, both at the first most expensive tariff block, and throughout the day, in case of increasedconsumption. In view of the existing surpluses of electricity, the operation of the battery has been adjusted so that during the period of the lowest prices it is charged with electricity produced from the solar power plant, provided that the production of the power plantis greater than the consumption at the facility.
Emphasis:
By using the correct battery management method, we have ensured that billing capacity is reduced, electricity storage is stored when the stock market is very low and the utilization of this energy later in the day.
